We all have an outfit crisis when we have to do business wear. It can be hard to find fashionable items that are appropriate enough for formal events but at the same time, we don't want to blend too into the crowd with our basic black or navy suit.

So here are some pieces I would look for when dressing formally:
1 - blazers
Having a fun and structured blazer will help give you a unique look whilst maintaining the business dress code. For example here are some options I would go for :
Textured Blazer
textured blazers are a fun way of sticking to the classics but having a modern twist to it. Having a neutral and muted blazer like this would look so chic with a bright formal shirt such as blue, purple and even pink!
Belted Blazers
Belted blazers are a great way of adding more structure to your outfit when you feel like you are loosing your shape under all the layers.
These can be paired with a range of different pant options such as flared trousers, cigarette trousers and even loose trousers like the photo above. Adding some statement heels and a bag to tie in the outfit will make a complete statement look!
2-Maxi Dresses
Dresses aren't always the first thing that we would go for when dressing formal as it can give off strong vacation vibes. But if you find the right patterns and colour palettes a maxi dress could be perfect for the business world.
Adding a fun patterned coat on top of the dress with a bright bag and some statement accessories will make this your go-to outfit!
3- Skirts
Skirts can be a tricky option as they can easily look inappropriate, therefore making sure the skirt is the right length and right fit are essential when opting for a skirt.
Asymmetric Pleated Skirt
Pleated skirts are the staple go-to when wearing skirts for business wear, so finding a pleated skirt with a fun cut will give your outfit a new edge whilst keeping it simple.
pairing these with a structured blouse and a vest on top will make your outfit complete! Shoulder padded shirts are also a great way of adding a blazer like structure to your outfit in a fun way like the photo shown above.
Satin Skirts
Satin skirts have become popular in formal wear this year, but they are tricky as they can easily look like pyjamas or nightwear which isn't the look we are going for. Therefore ensuring that the skirt is in a muted colour and that there are no splits on the side are essential as these can either make or break the look.
I personally would add a blazer with the satin skirt in order to make sure that it doesn't look too casual :)
4- Footwear
Heels
Heels are probably the most popular shoe choice when going for formal wear. But sometimes the height and colour of heels might make the outfit look overwhelming and let's be honest your legs are going through hell the whole time. Therefore I would go for mid-length heels so that it's comfortable and neat, Moreover I would try to stick to solid and muted colour palette.

Loafers
Loafers are personal my favourite go-to shoe. They can be dressed up and down but still, make an outfit look elegant and put together. Plus comfort is key, especially during long business hours!

Slip Ons'
Slip-on shoes can be your little cheat way of wearing sneakers to formal settings. The main point to look out for is making sure these sneakers do not have any laces, these can help give a modern twist to your outfit without making it look too casual.
